Zen & Sword: The Miyamoto Musashi Saga At Toei Blu-ray Box Set Announced by Eureka Entertainment
Eureka Entertainment has announced Zen & Sword, a limited edition Blu-ray box set collecting Toei's complete five-film Miyamoto Musashi saga. The release is part of the Masters of Cinema Series and will release this February.
The set includes all five films directed by Tomu Uchida between 1961 and 1965. The series stars Kinnosuke Nakamura as the legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi and Ken Takakura as his rival Kojiro Sasaki.
Release Overview
Zen & Sword is limited to 2,000 copies and collects the complete Miyamoto Musashi series across three Blu-ray discs.
The five films included are Miyamoto Musashi, Miyamoto Musashi II: Showdown at Hannyazaka Heights, Miyamoto Musashi III: Birth of the Two Sword Style, Miyamoto Musashi IV: Duel at Ichijyo-Ji, and Miyamoto Musashi V: Duel at Ganryu Island.
Video and Audio Specs
The Blu-ray discs are Region B and feature 1080p HD presentations sourced from new 4K restorations by Toei. Optional English subtitles are included and have been newly revised for this release.

Editions and Packaging
The limited edition includes a hardbound slipcase featuring new art by John Dunn.
A 100-page collector's book is also included. The book features translated writing by Miyamoto Musashi, notes on each film in Toei's Musashi series by Japanese cinema expert Joe Hickinbottom, and a new essay on the films' stars by Jennifer Coates, author of Film Viewing in Postwar Japan, 1945–1968.

Zen & Sword releases February 23, 2026 and is currently available to pre-order.
Eureka is also releasing Jakob the Liar (1974) on Blu-ray in February.
