Eureka Entertainment is releasing The Devil’s Hand (1943) on Blu-ray in the UK in March. The film joins Eureka’s Masters of Cinema series as spine #346.

Film and Release Overview

The Devil’s Hand (1943), also known as La Main du diable and Carnival of Sinners, is a French fantasy-horror film directed by Maurice Tourneur. The film stars Pierre Fresnay as Roland Brissot, a struggling artist whose life changes after he acquires a mysterious supernatural talisman.

The story unfolds through a framing narrative set at an isolated hotel, where Brissot recounts the events that led to his artistic success and moral downfall. As the consequences of the bargain escalate, the film explores themes of ambition, temptation, and fate through a blend of fantasy and psychological horror.

The supporting cast includes Josseline Gaël, Noël Roquevert, Pierre Larquey, and Palau.

The Blu-ray includes a 1080p HD presentation from a restoration by Gaumont Film Company. Audio is presented in original French mono. Optional English subtitles are included and have been newly revised for this release.
