Adventure Calls! Karl May at CCC Blu-ray Boxset Announced by Eureka Entertainment

Eureka Entertainment is dropping a must-see collection for fans of classic Westerns with the Adventure Calls! Karl May at CCC Blu-ray Boxset, hitting shelves in the US and UK this April under their Masters of Cinema line.
This packed set dives deep into the world of German author Karl May's epic tales, bundling seven key adaptations produced by CCC Film that helped shape the Western genre in the '60s.
Film Overviews
The films included in the boxset are Old Shatterhand, Winnetou and Old Shatterhand in the Valley of Death, The Shoot, Through Wild Kurdistan, In the Kingdom of the Silver Lion, The Treasure of the Aztecs, and The Pyramid of the Sun God.
Karl May remains a legend in Germany, synonymous with pulse-pounding Westerns and sprawling adventures. These films exploded in popularity during the 1960s, all courtesy of producer Artur Brauner at CCC Film. Leading man Lex Barker brings the charisma, with directing duties handled by Robert Siodmak, Hugo Fregonese, Franz Josef Gottlieb, and Harald Reinl.
Old Shatterhand and Winnetou and Shatterhand in the Valley of Death spotlight the iconic duo of frontiersman Old Shatterhand and Apache chief Winnetou, as they thwart a devious war plot and a high-stakes gold heist.
The Shoot, Through Wild Kurdistan, and In the Kingdom of the Silver Lion track adventurer Kara Ben Nemsi's journeys across the Balkans and Middle East.
Lastly, The Treasure of the Aztecs and The Pyramid of the Sun God follow Dr. Karl Sternau on his quest for hidden riches to fund political actions in Mexico.
Shot against stunning European backdrops, these films helped lay the groundwork for the Italian Western boom that followed. Now, Eureka is bringing all seven to UK home video for the very first time, straight from fresh 4K restorations courtesy of CCC Film.
Video and Audio Specs
The Blu-ray discs boast 1080p HD presentations for every one of the seven features. These come directly from 4K restorations of the original camera negatives handled by CCC Film. Soundtrack-wise, you've got the original German audio tracks, paired with optional English subtitles that have been freshly revised for this edition. And the set supports Region A and B playback.

This is a strictly Limited Edition Hardbound Set, capped at just 2000 copies worldwide. It comes complete with a Limited Edition 60-page collector’s book featuring new writing on Karl May on page and screen by German popular cinema experts Tim Bergfelder and Holger Haase, a profile of Lex Barker by Boris Brosowski and an essay on Old Shatterhand and Winnetou by Lee Broughton, author of The Euro-Western. It is also limited to 2000 copies.
