About Super Nature (2025)
Ed Sayers’ award-winning debut feature sees him collaborating with 40 people in 25 countries, filming on land, in the air and underwater. Shooting exclusively on vintage Super 8 cameras, the original home movie format, they capture the beauty of the natural world and reflect on our place within it. The result is a fresh perspective on the most pressing subject of our times.
Super Nature Dual Format Edition discs and first pressing booklet
The Super Nature Dual Format Edition is a 2-disc set with one BD-50 and one DVD. Only the first pressing of the Super Nature Dual Format Edition includes an illustrated booklet. Sayers, Adrian Beckingham and Ben Nicholson wrote new pieces on Super Nature for the booklet. The booklet also has notes on the special features and film credits.
Ed Sayers commentary and short films on the Super Nature discs
Sayers and producer Rebecca Wolff recorded an audio commentary for Super Nature. The 2026 deleted scenes on the Super Nature Dual Format Edition run 4 minutes. Full-length versions of the straight 8 films featured in Super Nature run 14 minutes.
Sayers directed Goldfish (2007), a 9-minute short film on the Super Nature Dual Format Edition featuring Michael Fassbender and Caroline Carver. A Day Out in Time (2012) is a 4-minute Sayers short film made for straight 8. A 21-minute selection of BFI National Archive films from 1922 to 1932 shows how the approach to documenting the natural world has changed in the past century.
