The Invincible Eight Blu-ray from Eureka Entertainment

Eureka Entertainment is releasing The Invincible Eight (1971) on Blu-ray in March.

Film Overview

The Invincible Eight (1971) is a wuxia action film directed by Lo Wei and produced during the early years of Golden Harvest. The film predates Lo Wei’s international success with The Big Boss and Fist of Fury and represents one of the studio’s formative productions following its founding in 1970.

The story follows eight men and women who unite to take revenge on a military General responsible for killing members of their families. Their plan is complicated by the General’s protection, which includes the Imperial army and an elite group of bodyguards armed with whips.

The cast includes Nora Miao, Angela Mao, Paul Chang Chung, and James Tien. The film features fight choreography by Sammo Hung, who also appears on screen as one of the General’s henchmen.
