Outbreak 4K UHD Blu-ray from Shout Studios

Outbreak (1995) is coming to 4K UHD in March 2026 from Shout! Studios, releasing under the label’s Shout Select line.

The film will be presented from a new 4K transfer sourced from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision included.

Directed by Wolfgang Petersen and written by Laurence Dworet and Robert Roy Pool, Outbreak is a 1995 American medical disaster film starring Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, and Morgan Freeman. The cast also includes Donald Sutherland, Cuba Gooding Jr., Kevin Spacey, and Patrick Dempsey.

The film follows the emergence of a deadly fictional virus and the escalating efforts of military and civilian health agencies to contain its spread, moving from an initial outbreak in Africa to a crisis threatening a small town in California. Much of the story is set within U.S. military medical facilities and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, examining the ethical and strategic decisions involved in managing a large-scale biological threat.

Shout! Studios will release Outbreak on 4K UHD on March 31, 2026. It is currently available to pre-order.
