MVD will release Lionheart (1990) on 4K Ultra HD as part of its LaserVision collection under their MVD Rewind Collection line. The new edition, LaserVision #7, arrives Jan. 20, 2026, and is now available for pre-order.
The announcement follows MVD’s upcoming Knock Off (1998) 4K Blu-ray, also set for January 2026.
Lionheart 4K Ultra HD Disc
The 4K release features a director-approved 2025 restoration of the extended “A.W.O.L. Cut,” created from a 16-bit scan of the original camera negative. Presented in 2160p HDR with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio, the transfer includes LPCM 2.0 stereo audio and optional English subtitles.
Special features on the 4K disc include:
- New audio commentary with director Sheldon Lettich, moderated by Heath Holland
- Collectible Lionheart “4K LaserVision” mini-poster
- Reversible cover art
Blu-ray disc
The Blu-ray disc is identical to the 2018 release and includes both the U.S. Theatrical Version (104 mins) and Extended Version (110 mins), presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Audio options include LPCM 2.0 stereo and 5.1 surround, with English, French, and Spanish subtitles on the theatrical cut.
