MVD Entertainment Group has partnered with Video Store Day for the 2026 celebration on October 17.
Video Store Day 2026 will offer exclusive Blu-ray, 4K UHD, DVD and VHS releases through participating independent video stores. Organizers will announce the first products worldwide in August 2026.
The partnership connects MVD Entertainment Group with an annual event that has supported independent video stores since 2010.
When is Video Store Day 2026
Video Store Day 2026 will take place on Saturday, October 17.
Video Store Day takes place on the third Saturday of October each year. The international event brings independent video stores together for one day of exclusive releases and in-store activity.
Daniel Hanna founded Video Store Day in 2010. Hanna also owns Eyesore Cinema.
What will Video Store Day 2026 offer
Video Store Day 2026 will feature exclusive physical media editions available only from participating stores.

Video Store Day will use the exclusive products to attract collectors, support independent filmmakers and promote independent video stores. Organizers will reveal the participating products in August 2026.
Why MVD Entertainment Group joined Video Store Day
MVD Entertainment Group said the partnership will support independent retailers and give collectors access to exclusive editions.
Kevin McKay, vice president of sales for MVD Entertainment Group, said collectors continue to seek products such as VHS editions, premium slipcovers and SteelBooks.
“This collaboration will help grow independent retailers while bringing collectors the unique and exclusive products they love,” McKay said.
McKay described 2026 as the first year of a partnership that MVD Entertainment Group plans to develop over time.
What Video Store Day means for independent stores
Video Store Day founder Daniel Hanna said the MVD Entertainment Group partnership gives the event new support after 15 years of grassroots organization.
Hanna said Video Store Day will continue to promote physical media, video store culture and independent retailers.
“We will continue to empower local independent shops by championing the tactile ritual of browsing shelves and supporting the community builders who are keeping the film-loving spirit alive and maintaining true ‘Freedom of Choice,’” Hanna said.
Video Store Day places independent stores at the center of the event. Participating retailers will sell the exclusive editions directly to collectors on October 17.
