The MVD Rewind Collection will release Joseph Zito’s Missing in Action on 4K Blu-ray on September 22.
Joseph Zito directed the 1984 action film. Chuck Norris stars alongside M. Emmet Walsh, David Tress, Lenore Kasdorf and James Hong.
Missing in Action cast and story
Chuck Norris plays Special Forces Col. James Braddock, a Vietnam veteran who spent 10 years in a labor camp after the war. Braddock escaped with his men and returned home.
Reports of other American prisoners later draw Braddock back to Vietnam. He joins a fact-finding mission in Saigon to investigate claims that American soldiers remain in POW camps.
General Tran, played by James Hong, denies that Vietnam still holds American prisoners. Braddock rejects the denial and begins his own search with State Department official Ann Fitzgerald, played by Lenore Kasdorf.
Missing in Action 4K restoration and audio
The Missing in Action 4K Blu-ray uses a 2023 4K restoration from the original camera negative.
MVD will present the film with Dolby Vision and HDR. The disc also includes English DTS-HD 2.0 Mono audio and optional English SDH subtitles.
Missing in Action 4K special features
The release includes an archival 2017 audio commentary with director Joseph Zito. Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures moderates the commentary.
MVD also includes a 26-minute archival interview with screenwriter James Bruner and the original 2-minute theatrical trailer.
The package includes reversible artwork and a collectible 4K mini-poster.
