Guyver Dark Hero Blu-ray from Toy Robot Video

Toy Robot Video is releasing Guyver: Dark Hero (1994) on Blu-ray in September. The set marks the film's UK and US Blu-ray debut, and it arrives as part of Toy Robot Video's September 2026 lineup.

This is a 2-disc edition built around a new master transferred from the best surviving film elements. The set carries two cuts of the film: the Original 1994 version of Guyver: Dark Hero and an Enhanced version with new special effects.

Guyver: Dark Hero is a sci-fi action sequel to The Guyver. Sean Barker returns to settle some unfinished business with the evil human mutants known as the Zoanoids. He is drawn to an archeological dig in Utah, where he discovers an alien ship filled with weapons capable of world destruction. With the fate of mankind in his hands, the Guyver makes a final stand against the forces of evil.

The film comes from creature-effects specialist Steve Wang, whose other directing credits include Kung Fu Rascals and Drive. David Hayter stars as Sean Barker. The supporting cast includes Kathy Christopherson, Bruno Patrick, Christopher Michael, J.D. Smith, Wes Deitrick, Brian Simpson, and Shaun T. Benjamin.

The release includes three new audio commentaries, one of them with director Steve Wang. A package of new interviews features producer and director Steve Wang, actors David Hayter and Kathy Christopherson, screenwriter Nathan Long, composer Les Claypool III, and other members of the cast and crew.

Archival and on-set material rounds out the disc. The set includes behind-the-scenes footage from the original shoot, along with the archival Making of Guyver: Dark Hero. Trailers and photo galleries that include sketches complete the release.

Guyver: Dark Hero (1994) releases on Blu-ray on September 7, 2026 in the UK and September 8, 2026 in the US and Canada.
