RAD The Ultimate 40th Anniversary 4K UHD from Vinegar Syndrome

Vinegar Syndrome has announced a 40th Anniversary deluxe edition of RAD (1986) on 4K UHD, releasing under its Vinegar Syndrome Ultra line. The release is being produced in partnership with Utopia and is planned for later in 2026.

The label originally released RAD on 4K UHD in 2020, and stated that customer feedback from that release directly led to the development and launch of the VSU line later that year.

According to the announcement, the 40th Anniversary edition will feature a Dolby Vision remaster presented in a deluxe VSU package. The release will include what Vinegar Syndrome describes as its longest and most extensive book to date.

The set will contain a mix of archival and newly produced extras, including a 2025 feature-length making-of documentary on the film.

Vinegar Syndrome noted that additional studios from around the globe will likely announce their own plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary in the coming months, so it wanted to give American and Canadian customers advance notice of its edition.

No specific release date, technical specifications, complete bonus features list, or pricing have been announced at this time, but stay tuned to Physical Media News as additional information about the RAD 40th Anniversary 4K UHD is released.
