The Phantom 4K UHD from Kino Lorber

Kino Lorber is bringing The Phantom (1996) back to physical media in April with a new 4K UHD and Blu-ray release under its KL Studio Classics line.

Directed by Simon Wincer, The Phantom (1996) stars Billy Zane as the pulp-era hero who protects the jungle nation of Bengalla. The cast also includes Kristy Swanson, Treat Williams, Catherine Zeta-Jones, James Remar, and Patrick McGoohan.

The 4K UHD presentation is sourced from a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative, approved by director Simon Wincer. The 4K disc includes a Dolby Vision and HDR presentation of the film. Both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray discs feature 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 audio options, along with optional English subtitles.

Kino Lorber has split the bonus content across two discs. The 4K UHD includes a new audio commentary by Simon Wincer, moderated by filmmaker Douglas Hosdale. The Blu-ray disc also includes the new commentary and adds newly produced interviews with Billy Zane and composer David Newman, along with the theatrical trailer.

Lastly, the release includes a limited edition reversible art design and an O-card slipcase.

The Phantom (1996) arrives on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray from Kino Lorber on April 14, 2026.
