Lionsgate Limited is releasing The Furious (2025) on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in August. The two-disc set comes with a collector’s booklet containing an original essay by film critic Priscilla Page, along with reversible cover art from two illustrators.
Kenji Tanigaki directs The Furious, following Wang Wei (Xie Miao) after his daughter is kidnapped by a criminal network. When the police offer no help, Wei sets out to find her himself, joined by Navin (Joe Taslim), a journalist whose own wife has disappeared. The two fight the kidnappers together in a martial arts showdown driven by vengeance.
Tanigaki, who also directed Legend of Seven Monks and Enter the Fat Dragon, is known for fast-paced martial arts choreography. Mak Tin Shu, Lei Zhilong, Shum Kwan Sin and Frank Hui wrote the screenplay. The cast also includes Yang Enyou, Brian Le, Joey Iwanaga, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul, Guo Junqing, Winai Wiangyangkung, Yayan Ruhian and Jija Yanin.
The reversible cover swaps between two original illustrations: hammer battle artwork by Khang Giate on one side and a battle montage by Vincent Aseo on the other.
Extras include the making-of documentary A Storm of Carnage: Creating The Furious, the featurette Five-Man Brawl, deleted scenes and the theatrical trailer.
The 4K UHD disc presents The Furious in Dolby Vision, framed at its original 2.39:1 widescreen aspect ratio, on a 100GB disc. Audio comes in English Dolby Atmos and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Audio, with an English descriptive audio track also included. Subtitle options are English, Spanish and English SDH.
The 4K UHD disc is region free and plays worldwide, while the Blu-ray disc is Region A; the included digital copy code is valid in the U.S. only.
