Cult Epics is releasing Umberto Lenzi’s Kriminal (1966) on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in September, the film’s first time in 4K. The 2-disc set presents a new 4K transfer and restoration from the original negative, with HDR on the UHD disc.
Alongside the standard release, a website-exclusive edition limited to 500 copies is available direct from Cult Epics.

Kriminal follows the masked king of thieves, the mastermind behind some of the greatest heists ever committed. He works alone, stays a step ahead of the law and turns deadly when crossed. Cult Epics calls the 1966 Italian film the crown jewel of “fumetti neri” pulp comic adaptations. Glenn Saxson and Helga Liné star.
Both discs use the same 4K transfer from the original negative, framed at the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The UHD adds HDR. Audio is the original English and Italian 2.0 mono in DTS-HD MA, with optional English subtitles. The film runs 100 minutes.
An audio commentary by Eugenio Ercolani and Troy Howarth appears on both discs, along with the original theatrical trailer. The Blu-ray includes the rest of the extras, starting with Armed to the Teeth: The Cinema of Umberto Lenzi, a feature-length documentary on the director. Two interviews follow: Camera Nostalgia with actor Glenn Saxson and The Sound of Krime with Pierpaolo De Sanctis. An isolated score, the original Italian credits, a promotional gallery and additional trailers are also on the disc.
The release comes with a slipcase and a reversible sleeve featuring the original Italian poster art. The website-exclusive edition adds its own exclusive slipcase, 4 repro Italian lobby card prints and a folded 12×18-inch poster.
Kriminal releases September 22, 2026.
