A24 is releasing Kane Parsons’ Backrooms on 4K UHD and standard Blu-ray in August. The release comes with nearly three hours of special features, and includes the 16 minutes of bonus footage titled “Everything Must Go.”

A feature commentary pairs Parsons with VFX supervisor Edward J Douglas, sound designer Eugenio Battaglia, and composer Edo Van Breemen. Parsons also appears in a 16-minute VFX and scene breakdown, and in a 90-second prop walkthrough.

The longest single extra is “Building the Backrooms,” a 26-minute featurette. Two further VFX breakdowns, running 5 and 2 minutes, come with optional commentary.

The 4K UHD disc presents the film in 2160p with Dolby Vision, framed at 1.85:1. Audio is Dolby Atmos. The standard Blu-ray presents Backrooms in 1080p at the same 1.85:1 ratio, again with Dolby Atmos.

English SDH and Spanish subtitles are on each disc, along with English Descriptive Audio.

The release also comes with six collectible postcards, the same number included in its Marty Supreme 4K UHD release earlier this year.

Backrooms is expected to ship in late August and is currently available to pre-order through the A24 shop.
