About the trilogy

Released between 1977 and 1978, The Japanese Godfather Trilogy follows the Nakajima crime syndicate as it expands its influence across Japan during the early 1970s. Directed by Sadao Nakajima, the films are based on the true story of Japan’s largest organized crime syndicate.

The trilogy stars Koji Tsuruta, Bunta Sugawara, and Sonny Chiba, three of the era’s most recognizable figures in Japanese action cinema.

Video and audio specifications

Each film has been newly transferred in high definition and is presented with uncompressed mono PCM audio and newly improved English subtitles. The box set spans three Blu-ray discs and is Regions A and B compatible.
