New Wave Video releasing UROTSUKIDŌJI – THE PERFECT COLLECTION on Blu-ray
New Wave Video has announced UROTSUKIDŌJI – THE PERFECT COLLECTION as Spine #3 in its label. The set is planned for release in late 2025 or early 2026 and will compile every film and OVA in the series on Blu-ray. They also announced that legendary creator and manga artist Toshio Maeda will be directly involved in and approving the upcoming collection.
What is included in UROTSUKIDŌJI – THE PERFECT COLLECTION?
The release collects all entries in the Urotsukidōji franchise in one package. It is presented as the most complete home video edition produced for the series to date.
Which films and restorations are part of the set?
The set includes:
- Legend of the Overfiend (1987): 2K restoration from rare 35mm prints.
- Legend of the Demon Womb (1990): OVA and theatrical versions.
- Return of the Overfiend (1992): All existing cuts.
- Inferno Road (1993).
- The Final Chapter (1996).
All titles will be authored on 50GB Blu-ray discs with maximum bitrates.
What bonus content and book are included?
The collection will feature:
- New interviews with creators and critics.
- Visual essays and critical analysis of the series.
- Archival features, where available.
A collector’s book will be included, containing rare production art, character designs, and newly written essays.
How will the packaging and editions be presented?
The box set will be housed in a rigid slipcase with unified artwork. The collector’s book will be packaged inside. Standard editions of the individual titles are also planned.

The release is being produced for the Region B market. The target release window is late 2025 to early 2026.
