About The Weight (2026)
Oregon 1933: After the death of his wife, Samuel Murphy (Ethan Hawke) is separated from his daughter and ends up in a work camp. To regain custody, Murphy makes a risky deal with the unscrupulous camp supervisor Clancy (Russell Crowe): he is offered an early release in exchange for joining a group of smugglers on a gold transport through the merciless wilderness. But aside from the dangers lurking on the treacherous terrain, the venture is also sabotaged by mistrust and betrayal within his own ranks. The closer the group gets to their destination, the more Murphy doubts the price he must pay for his freedom and the reunion with his child.
