Unearthed Films is releasing The Sky Has Fallen (2009) on Blu-ray in October. The special edition includes an extensive archival making-of package featuring a commentary by director Doug Roos and executive producer James Segars.

Roos looks back at the shoot in “20 Years Later: Reflecting on My First Feature,” while “Influences: Asian Cinema and the 1980s” covers what shaped the film. Three more featurettes follow the independent production in order: “Pre-Production,” “Principal Photography” and “Post Production.”
Three featurettes cover the creature work. “Special Effects: Making the Monsters” looks at the monster builds, and “Mask Making Step By Step” and “Prosthetic Application” go through the process in detail. “Recording the Score” covers the music, and the trailer is on the disc.
The Sky Has Fallen is a post-apocalyptic survival horror and creature feature that runs 78 minutes in English. A disease wipes out almost the entire population within a few hours, leaving survivors scattered in isolated locations.
Two of those survivors, Lance and Rachel, find that the plague is only the beginning. Mysterious black figures emerge to collect the dead and conduct experiments on their victims. Lance and Rachel set out to confront the leader of the creatures before the last remnants of humanity disappear.
The Sky Has Fallen releases October 13, 2026 as a region-free Blu-ray from Unearthed Films.
