Speed Racer (2008) Heads to 4K Steelbook With Standard and Collector’s Editions

The Wachowskis’ high-octane adaptation of Speed Racer is heading back to the starting line, with a newly announced 4K UHD Steelbook release that will be available in both Standard and Collector’s Editions.
Film Overview
Released in 2008, Speed Racer reimagines the classic anime series as a hyper-stylized live-action spectacle centered on Speed, a fearless young driver raised in a family-run racing operation. His father, Pops Racer, designs the iconic Mach 5, while Speed’s career is shaped by the shadow of his older brother Rex, a legendary racer whose death looms large over the sport.
Speed’s refusal to sign with Royalton Industries pulls him into a darker side of professional racing, where outcomes are manipulated and profits matter more than drivers. As corporate pressure escalates and his family’s livelihood is threatened, Speed turns to his closest allies, including his girlfriend Trixie and the mysterious Racer X, to compete in the Crucible, a dangerous cross-country rally tied to his brother’s past.
