Refuse Films announces Series 2 Blu-ray releases including The Pope of Utah, Splatter University and Die You Zombie Bastards!

Refuse Films has revealed Series 2 of its underground independent cinema line. Series 2 features three Blu-ray releases including the World Blu-ray Premiere of The Pope of Utah (1993), along with Splatter University (1984) and Die You Zombie Bastards! (2005).
Each release is limited to 2,000 units and includes an exclusive slipcover, a 24-page booklet, and filmmaker-approved special features.
All three Blu-ray releases are region free and playable worldwide. Each disc features English 2.0 Stereo audio and is pressed to BD50 format.
The Pope of Utah presents a 2018 2K widescreen restoration alongside the 2001 SD full screen version. Splatter University includes audio commentaries with director Richard W. Haines and cast members Forbes Riley and Amodio Giordano.
Die You Zombie Bastards! features three separate audio commentaries along with both HD open matte and widescreen presentations.

The Pope of Utah
A small-time TV evangelist struggles to keep his crumbling career together.
When high-tech televangelist Melvis Pressin's empire begins to crumble, it triggers a full-blown meltdown. He believes the only way to save his sleazy broadcast ministry is by crushing everyone in his path. Melvis dons his garish suits and mustard-stained charisma and goes to war inside a retro-futurist religious TV station. As the delusion and rage escalate, a twisted showdown brews between Melvis and Del, his burnt-out, bipolar employee, a failed TV comedian who has had enough of the showbiz jive.

Splatter University

When a paranoid schizophrenic killer escapes from an asylum and resumes his bloody spree, it unleashes chaos on a quiet Catholic college campus. Freshly hired sociology instructor Julie Parker thinks her new teaching job is a fresh start until the murders pile up around her, turning classmates and colleagues into mutilated corpses.
