The New Avengers: The Complete Series (1976 – 1977) Heads to Blu-ray via Imprint Films
Imprint Films is releasing The New Avengers: The Complete Series (1976 – 1977) on Blu-ray in a limited, hardbox edition under their Imprint Television line, following STUDIOCANAL’s 4K UHD release of the series in November 2025.
Series Overview
The New Avengers: The Complete Series (1976 – 1977) is a secret agent action television series developed by original The Avengers producers Albert Fennell and Brian Clemens as a sequel to the 1960s series. Produced by The Avengers (Film and TV) Enterprises Ltd for the ITV network, the series was filmed primarily at Pinewood Studios.
The series reunites Patrick Macnee as John Steed, now leading a new team of Avengers. He is joined by Mike Gambit, played by Gareth Hunt, a skilled field agent and marksmans, and Purdey, played by Joanna Lumley, an agile operative whose combat style reflected Lumley’s ballet background. This format shifted Steed into a mentor role while pairing him with both a male and female partner.
Produced as a joint United Kingdom, France, and Canada co-production, The New Avengers blended espionage storytelling with science fiction concepts such as robotics, biological warfare, artificial intelligence, and suspended animation. Two series totaling 26 episodes were produced and broadcast internationally on networks including ITV, CBS, and CTV, with composer Laurie Johnson returning to create an updated theme based on the original series.

Imprint Films includes a 1080p high-definition presentation of all 26 episodes, restored from the original 35mm film negatives, with original LPCM 2.0 Mono audio.
The series is presented in an aspect ratio of 1.33:1 and the release includes Optional English HOH Subtitles.
