Universal Studios Home Entertainment is releasing 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD Collector’s Editions of Hamnet (2025) in March.

Directed by Chloé Zhao and starring Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal, the historical tragedy is based on Maggie O’Farrell’s 2020 novel and dramatizes the family life of William Shakespeare and his wife Agnes Hathaway as they cope with the death of their 11-year-old son Hamnet.

The film won Best Motion Picture, Drama and Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for Buckley at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards and received eight Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress. Critical reception was overwhelmingly positive, with Buckley’s performance receiving particular praise.

Bonus materials include audio commentary by Chloé Zhao and three featurettes. Optional English SDH, Spanish, and French subtitles are available for the main feature.

Hamnet releases March 3, 2026 on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.

Description

Based on the New York Times best-selling novel, Academy Award®-winning director Chloé Zhao (Nomadland) directs a powerful story of love and loss.
