Synapse Films Is Releasing A Standard Edition Of Their Frankenhooker 4K UHD This October

Synapse Films is releasing Frankenhooker (1990), Frank Henenlotter's sexy horror-comedy twist on the Frankenstein legend, as a standard edition 4K UHD + Blu-ray combo pack in early October 2026.

The release presents the uncut version in an all-new 2025 4K Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) restoration, created in-house by Synapse Films from the archival uncut original 35mm vault materials, with a newly remastered 5.1 surround sound mix alongside the original English 2.0. It follows the label's other recent 4K horror work, including its 4K UHD release of Prom Night (1980) and the in-house restoration of The Deadly Spawn.
