Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced the 4K UHD and Blu-ray release of 28 Years Later (2025), arriving this September. Directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle and written by Academy Award-nominee Alex Garland, this gripping new chapter expands the world introduced in 28 Days Later, nearly three decades after the outbreak of the rage virus.

The story follows a hardened group of survivors living in isolation on a remote island, linked to the mainland by a single fortified causeway. As the infected continue to roam beyond the quarantine zone, a member of the group ventures back to the mainland. There, he uncovers terrifying new evolutions of the virus and the darker instincts of those who remain.

Starring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes, 28 Years Later blends psychological horror and post-apocalyptic tension in a harrowing vision of survival, mutation, and moral collapse.
