All Through the Night (1942)
All Through the Night leads off the August 18 wave with a new 2026 1080p HD master struck from a 4K scan of the original nitrate camera negative. Vincent Sherman directed this wartime spy spoof, in which Humphrey Bogart plays “Gloves” Donahue, a racketeer drawn into a Nazi spy ring after a friend’s murder. It followed Bogart’s High Sierra and The Maltese Falcon, and the supporting cast includes Conrad Veidt, Kaaren Verne, Peter Lorre, William Demarest, Jackie Gleason, and Phil Silvers.
The Blu-ray presents the black-and-white film at 107 minutes, framed at 1.37:1 with side mattes, with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio and English SDH. John Ford directed Sergeant Rutledge, a Western built around the court-martial of a Buffalo Soldier. Woody Strode plays Sergeant Rutledge, on trial for rape and murder, while Jeffrey Hunter plays Lt. Cantrell, his defending officer. The film followed Ford’s treatment of racism in The Searchers, and its cast also includes Constance Towers, Juano Hernandez, and Billie Burke.

John Ford directs a second title in this August 2026 release wave with The Wings of Eagles. John Wayne plays aviator-turned-screenwriter Frank “Spig” Wead, who wrote the screenplay for Ford’s own They Were Expendable. Ward Bond plays a movie director modeled on Ford himself, while Maureen O’Hara and Dan Dailey co-star as Wead’s wife and sidekick. Warner Archive struck a new 2026 4K UHD HDR master from a 12K scan of the original Technirama camera negative. Morton DaCosta directed the film. Rosalind Russell earned her fourth Academy Award nomination and third Golden Globe playing Mame Dennis, guardian to her orphaned nephew Patrick. The film was nominated for 6 Academy Awards including Best Picture, and its cast includes Forrest Tucker, Jan Handzlik, Roger Smith, Coral Browne, and Peggy Cass.
The 2-disc 4K/Blu-ray combo pack (BD100/BD50) presents the color film in Dolby Vision at 2.35:1 letterbox. Audio options include a new DTS-HD MA 5.1 Surround track, the original DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono theatrical track, and a DTS-HD MA 2.0 music-only track. Fidelity in Motion handled disc authoring and compression. The Bad Seed — Newly Remastered Edition (1956)
Warner Archive is replacing its Blu-ray of The Bad Seed, originally released 15 years ago from what the label describes as a sub-standard element. That earlier disc had a slightly improper aspect ratio and a low bit rate. The new edition uses an all-new 2026 1080p HD master built from 4K scans of the original camera negative. Mervyn LeRoy directed the adaptation of Maxwell Anderson’s stage hit. Patty McCormack plays Rhoda Penmark, an outwardly perfect 8-year-old who is secretly a killer, and Nancy Kelly plays her mother, Christine.
Several cast members reprise their Broadway roles, including Kelly, who won a Tony playing Christine, and Eileen Heckart. The black-and-white Blu-ray runs 130 minutes, framed at 1.85:1, with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio and English SDH. Broadway Melody of 1938 (1937)
Roy Del Ruth directed Broadway Melody of 1938, an MGM musical starring Eleanor Powell as a dancer chasing her break on Broadway. The film is best remembered for a 15-year-old Judy Garland’s performance of “You Made Me Love You,” retitled “Dear Mr. Gable” as a tribute to Clark Gable. Garland first sang it at a studio birthday party for Gable. MGM added it to the finished film after the reaction it drew there. Robert Taylor, George Murphy, Buddy Ebsen, and Sophie Tucker complete the cast.

The crime drama stars Ioan Gruffudd as Dr. Henry Morgan, a New York City medical examiner who is secretly immortal. He returns to life every time he dies. His friend Abe, played by Judd Hirsch, knows the secret. NYPD detective Jo Martinez, played by Alana De La Garza, does not.
