Poverty Row Classics Vol. 2: East Side Kids (1940) and That Gang of Mine (1940) Coming to Blu-ray from VCI Home Entertainment

VCI Home Entertainment is releasing Poverty Row Classics Vol. 2 on Blu-ray in May. The set pairs two 1940 crime and drama shorts from the Poverty Row era: East Side Kids and That Gang of Mine.
East Side Kids (1940) follows a former street kid turned police officer who starts a boys' club to steer neighborhood youth away from crime. The film stars Leon Ames, Dennis Moore, Joyce Bryant, Hal E. Chester, Harris Berger, Frankie Burke, Vince Barnett, Dave O'Brien, Ted Adams, Maxine Leslie, Robert Fiske, Jack Edwards, Jim Farley, Stephen Chase, Fred Hoose, Donald Haines, Eric Burtis, Edwin Brian, Sam Edwards, and Frank Yaconelli.
That Gang of Mine (1940) centers on a street kid with ambitions of becoming a jockey. He and his gang discover an old man with a championship racehorse and work to raise the entry fees needed to race it. The film stars Bobby Jordan, Leo Gorcey, Clarence Muse, Dave O'Brien, Joyce Bryant, Ernest Morrison, Milton Kibbee, and David Gorcey.
