A Better Tomorrow Trilogy (1986–1989) Coming to 4K UHD and Blu-ray in March via Imprint Films

Imprint Films is releasing the A Better Tomorrow Trilogy on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in March under its Imprint Asia line. The release includes A Better Tomorrow (1986), A Better Tomorrow II (1987), and A Better Tomorrow III: Love and Death in Saigon (1989), presented in a limited edition hardbox.
This marks the second 4K UHD release of John Woo’s Hong Kong action trilogy, following Shout! Studios’ A Better Tomorrow Trilogy 4K UHD, which was released in November 2025 under their Hong Kong Cinema Classics line.
Films and Release Overview
The A Better Tomorrow Trilogy is a Hong Kong action film series directed by John Woo and produced in collaboration with Tsui Hark. The films are recognized as defining works of the heroic bloodshed genre and key titles in Hong Kong cinema history.
This release is spine numbers 44 through 46 in the Imprint Asia catalog. The set includes three 4K UHD discs housed in an exclusive SteelBook, four Blu-ray discs containing special features and alternate cuts in a separate case, and an 80-page hardcover booklet. Everything is housed in a lid-style hardbox. It is limited to 1,500 copies.

Video and Audio Specs
All three films are restored from their original camera negatives and presented in 2160p Ultra High Definition with Dolby Vision and HDR10 on 4K UHD. Blu-ray discs present the same restorations in 1080p high definition.
Audio options across the set include Cantonese LPCM 2.0 mono, Cantonese DTS-HD 7.1 surround, Mandarin DTS-HD 5.1 surround, and English LPCM 2.0 mono, where applicable. Aspect ratios are presented at 1.85:1. Optional English subtitles are provided from new translations.
