This policy explains what information Physical Media News collects when you visit physicalmedia.news, how it is used and the choices you have. It also covers PMN Publisher, the app that posts Physical Media News content to our own social media accounts.
Information we collect
The site has no user accounts, comments, newsletter sign-up or contact forms, so we do not ask you for your name, email address or payment details.
We collect limited information automatically when you visit:
- Usage information, such as the pages you view, how you interact with them, the site that referred you and your general location.
- Device information, such as your browser, operating system and screen size.
- Technical information, such as your IP address, which our hosting provider may record in server logs for security and to keep the site running.
Analytics
We use two analytics services to understand which articles people read and how to improve the site. Plausible Analytics measures traffic without using cookies. PostHog stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage, so it can recognize repeat visits.
Cookies and browser settings
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The site will still work if you do. We do not run advertising trackers on the site.
Amazon and other links
As an Amazon Associate, Physical Media News earns from qualifying purchases. Some links on the site are affiliate links to Amazon stores. If you follow one, Amazon may set cookies and collect information under its own privacy notice, and we may be paid a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not receive your name or payment details from Amazon.
The site also links to other websites and social media platforms. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave physicalmedia.news.
Google Fonts
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. Google’s privacy policy applies to that request.
How we use information
We use this information to measure and improve the site, keep it secure and fix problems. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to show you targeted advertising.
Social media and PMN Publisher
PMN Publisher publishes posts only to accounts that Physical Media News owns, including its Facebook Page and Instagram account. It uses Meta’s platform for that purpose. It does not offer a login to the public, and it does not collect, store or share data about Facebook or Instagram users.
If you message or interact with us on a social media platform, we can see what you send and your public profile. That platform’s privacy policy also applies.
Your choices and data deletion
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you. We cannot usually link analytics data to a named person, so please include enough detail for us to find what you are asking about.
To make a request, including a request to delete data connected to PMN Publisher, contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the effective date above.
