Umbrella Entertainment unleashes a definitive 4K and Blu-ray Collector’s Edition of Freaked on November 5, marking the worldwide debut of the film in 4K Dolby Vision. Directed by Alex Winter and Tom Stern, this 1993 cult comedy explodes with surreal humor, punk energy, and unforgettable creature effects.

Alex Winter stars as Ricky Coogin, a washed-up child actor turned corporate shill, who stumbles into a backwoods freak show run by madman Elijah C. Skuggs (Randy Quaid). After being mutated by Skuggs’ grotesque experiments, Ricky joins a sideshow of human oddities, including a sock-headed sage, a bearded lady, and a talking eyeball, to overthrow their captor and reclaim their humanity.

The star-studded cast includes Brooke Shields, Megan Ward, John Hawkes, Bobcat Goldthwait, William Sadler, and Mr. T, with a wild cameo from Keanu Reeves as Ortiz the Dog Boy. This new 4K restoration from the original elements was authored by Fidelity In Motion and features both 5.1 and 2.0 audio options.

Featuring rebellious cameos from Adrien Grenier, Alicia Witt, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ricki Lake, and Patricia Hearst, Waters’ 2000 film remains a raw, hilarious statement of anti-Hollywood intent.
