Scars of Dracula (1970) 4K UHD Blu-ray Announced by Kino Lorber
Kino Lorber will release Scars of Dracula (1970) on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray through its KL Studio Classics line on Dec. 9, 2025. The Hammer horror favorite has been restored from the 35mm original camera negative and presented in HDR with Dolby Vision.
Following recent restorations such as Dead of Night (1945), Kino Lorber continues to expand its 4K catalog of classic horror and British cinema.
About the film
Directed by Roy Ward Baker (Quatermass and the Pit, The Vampire Lovers), Scars of Dracula stars Christopher Lee in one of his most ferocious turns as the Count. When a defiant village rises against Dracula, his bloody vengeance falls upon those who challenge him.
The supporting cast includes Dennis Waterman, Jenny Hanley, Patrick Troughton, Michael Gwynn, and Christopher Matthews. Noted for its vivid color cinematography and graphic violence, the film represents Hammer’s early-1970s shift toward a darker, more explicit style of gothic horror.

The two-disc set includes one 4K UHD disc and one Blu-ray, both sourced from a new 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The 4K disc features HDR and Dolby Vision grading for enhanced contrast and color accuracy. Both editions include optional English subtitles.
