Ernesto Gastaldi’s Libido Comes to Blu-ray from Radiance Films This February

Italian genre fans have a reason to celebrate with the Blu-ray debut of Ernesto Gastaldi’s Libido, arriving as part of Radiance Films' February 2026 Blu-ray releases. The 1965 gothic thriller comes restored in 2K and limited to 3,000 copies.
A proto-giallo soaked in paranoia
Before he became one of Italy’s most prolific screenwriters, Ernesto Gastaldi made his directorial debut with Libido, a twisted, seaside fever dream that helped lay the groundwork for the giallo boom that followed.
The film stars Giancarlo Giannini (Swept Away) as a man returning to his childhood estate, haunted by memories of his father’s sadistic games and a long-buried murder. As the past bleeds into the present, reality and delusion blur in a story written by Gastaldi’s wife and collaborator Mara Maryl, who also appears on screen.
2K restoration and dual-language audio
Radiance’s new edition is sourced from a 2K restoration by Severin Films and includes both the original Italian and English audio tracks, presented in uncompressed mono PCM. Viewers can choose between a new English subtitle translation for the Italian version and English SDH subtitles for the English track. The disc is Region B compatible.

The release features a solid lineup of new interviews and commentary including:
- Audio commentary by critic and author Samm Deighan (2025)
