Radiance Films Brings Michael Cacoyannis’ Iphigenia to Blu-ray This February

Radiance Films will release Michael Cacoyannis’ acclaimed Greek tragedy Iphigenia on February 23, 2026, as part of the label’s February 2026 Blu-ray lineup. This marks the first Blu-ray edition in the UK of the 1977 film, presented in a limited run of 3,000 copies.
A classic Greek tragedy restored
Adapted from Euripides’ Iphigenia at Aulis, the film follows Agamemnon, who must atone for killing a sacred deer by sacrificing his daughter to appease the gods and secure his army’s voyage to Troy. Torn between duty and family, he hides the truth from his wife, Clytemnestra, played by Irene Papas (We Still Kill the Old Way), as the decision looms.
Directed by Michael Cacoyannis (Zorba the Greek, Elektra), Iphigenia was nominated for both the Palme d’Or and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
