MVD is bringing Double Impact to 4K with new scan and a mountain of extras

Douple Impact 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from MVD LaserVision Collection

MVD is releasing Double Impact (1991) on 4K in the United States in February as part of its LaserVision Collection. The two-disc set pairs a new 4K presentation with MVD’s previously released 2019 Blu-ray which includes a large slate of special features. Other Jean-Claude Van Damme 4K upgrades coming soon from MVD include Knock Off and Lionheart, both arriving in January.

Film Overview

Double Impact follows twin brothers Chad and Alex Wagner, both played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who are separated as infants after a Hong Kong crime syndicate murders their parents. Each brother grows up to become a martial arts master under different circumstances, and years later the family bodyguard reunites them so they can avenge their parents’ deaths.

Video and Audio Specs

The 4K disc features a director-approved 2025 4K scan and restoration using a 16-bit scan of the original camera negative. It presents the movie in 2160p HDR at a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Audio options include LPCM 5.1 Surround and LPCM 2.0 Stereo with optional English SDH, Spanish, and French subtitles.

The Blu-ray presents the film in 1080p at 1.85:1 with English 2.0 Stereo LPCM and Spanish Dolby Digital 2.0 audio options, along with the same subtitle options.
