Dead Man's Shoes from Second Sight Films

Physical media fans with a taste for gritty British cinema have a new one to make room for. Shane Meadows' Dead Man's Shoes (2004) is coming to Blu-ray as a Limited Edition from Second Sight Films, and pre-orders are open ahead of an August release.

Directed by Meadows and co-written by its star Paddy Considine, Dead Man's Shoes follows a former paratrooper who returns to his hometown in the Midlands to take revenge on the gang of thugs that violently tormented his vulnerable younger brother. Considine leads alongside Toby Kebbell and Gary Stretch.

Second Sight is treating this as a proper collector's package, in line with their other releases. The release comes in a rigid slipcase with new artwork by Krishna Shenoi and bundles in a 120-page book with new essays by Anna Cale, Tim Coleman, Matt Glasby, Joel Harley, Ella Kemp and Hannah Strong, a Dead Man's Shoes Graphic Novel, and 6 collectors' art cards.

On the disc itself, the film carries a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track with English subtitles for the hearing impaired, and the release is encoded for Region B.
