Warner Archive December 2025 Blu-ray Releases

Warner Archive is closing out 2025 with seven titles releasing this December. The lineup includes Interrupted Melody (1955), The Valley of Decision (1945), San Antonio (1945), On Borrowed Time (1939), I Love Melvin (1953), Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har: The Complete Series (1962-1963), and Wally Gator: The Complete Series (1962-1963).
All the releases feature new 4K restorations from original camera negatives or the best available preservation elements.

Interrupted Melody (1955)
This 1955 biopic chronicles the story of Australian soprano Marjorie Lawrence, who rose from the outback to become one of opera's most celebrated Wagnerian performers before polio threatened to end her career. The film addresses the physical demands of performing Wagner's challenging works and Lawrence's battle against paralysis.
Eleanor Parker earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Lawrence. Opera legend Eileen Farrell provided the singing voice, uncredited. Glenn Ford and Roger Moore co-star. The film won the Academy Award for Story and Screenplay.
Warner Archive sourced this restoration from the original camera negative. The package includes the CinemaScope cartoon Tom and Cherie, the original theatrical trailer, and English SDH subtitles.

The Valley of Decision (1945)
Set against the backdrop of Pittsburgh's steel industry, The Valley of Decision explores class division in 1940s America. Mary Rafferty, daughter of a mill worker crippled in an industrial accident, takes a job as a housemaid for the wealthy Scott family and falls for Paul Scott, the mill owner's progressive son. A violent labor strike threatens their relationship.
Greer Garson earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her performance as Mary. Gregory Peck plays Paul Scott in one of his early film roles. Herbert Stothart's score earned an Oscar nomination. The film was a box office success for MGM and represents the studio's prestige filmmaking during Hollywood's Golden Age.
The 4K restoration comes from the best preservation elements available. Bonus content includes the Tex Avery cartoon Wild and Woolfy, the MGM short Spreadin' the Jam, a Lux Radio Theater broadcast featuring Garson and Peck reprising their roles, the original theatrical trailer, and English SDH subtitles.

San Antonio (1945)
Despite being Tasmanian with a British accent, Errol Flynn starred in eight westerns throughout his career. San Antonio showcases Flynn's approach to the genre through his performance style and physical presence.
The plot follows Clay Hardin as he rides into San Antonio to confront cattle rustlers. Alexis Smith co-stars as a saloon singer. Action sequences include a saloon gunfight and a showdown at the Alamo.
Warner Archive restored this film from the original Technicolor negatives.
The release includes the Technicolor short Frontier Days, the cartoon Trap Happy Porky, the original theatrical trailer, and English SDH subtitles.

On Borrowed Time (1939)
This 1939 adaptation of Paul Osborn's play follows Gramps Northrup, who uses magic to trap Death in the branches of an apple tree so he can continue raising his orphaned grandson.
Lionel Barrymore stars as Gramps, supported by Beulah Bondi, Una Merkel, Henry Travers, and Cedric Hardwicke as Death. The film was produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
The 4K restoration comes from the best preservation elements. Warner Archive included two radio adaptations: a 1946 Screen Guild Theater broadcast featuring Barrymore and a 1948 Great Scenes from Great Plays broadcast with Boris Karloff. Additional content includes the MGM cartoon Wanted No Master, the Fitzpatrick Traveltalks short A Day on Treasure Island, the original theatrical trailer, and English SDH subtitles.

I Love Melvin (1953)
Following their work on Singin' in the Rain, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor reunited for this 1953 MGM musical. O'Connor plays Melvin Hooper, a Look magazine employee who convinces Broadway dancer Judy LeRoy he can get her on the magazine's cover. He then must figure out how to deliver on that promise.
The 4K restoration comes from the original Technicolor negatives. Warner Archive includes a deleted musical sequence called "A Lady Loves" that was intended as the finale. Additional content includes two MGM cartoons (The Impossible Possum and TV of Tomorrow), the original theatrical trailer, and English SDH subtitles.
Warner Archive is also releasing complete collection sets for two early Hanna-Barbera series, Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har and Wally Gator. Both arrive as two-disc sets with all 52 episodes of each series remastered in 4K from the best available film elements.

Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har: The Complete Series (1962-1963)
Lippy the Lion & Hardy Har Har features the optimistic lion Lippy (voiced by Daws Butler) and the pessimistic hyena Hardy Har Har (voiced by Mel Blanc). The duo's adventures span the Wild West, deserted islands, country clubs, and racetracks, with each episode ending in disaster.

Wally Gator: The Complete Series (1962-1963)
Wally Gator follows the titular alligator (voiced by Daws Butler), a zoo resident who repeatedly escapes despite zookeeper Twiddle's efforts (voiced by Don Messick). Wally uses various disguises to seek adventure beyond his enclosure. Episodes feature Wally being mistaken for a dragon by medieval knights, nearly becoming an ingredient in a witch's potion, and working as a Hollywood stunt gator. Each episode ends with Wally back at the zoo, only to escape again.
Both collections include optional English SDH subtitles for each episode.

Warner Archive will release all seven titles on December 16, 2025.
The December slate follows Warner Archive's November 2025 releases, which include The Bride Came C.O.D. (1941), Silver River (1948), The Miracle (1959), It's Love I'm After (1937), I Love You Again (1940), The Iron Mistress (1952), and At the Circus (1939).
