Old Gold Media will release The Sweeney: Series Three 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray on Dec. 1, 2025. This four-disc box set has been newly restored and remastered, presented for the first time in the original television aspect ratio on Blu-ray. The release follows Old Gold Media’s release of The Sweeney: Series Two (50th Anniversary Edition) Blu-ray.
Series three overview
The Sweeney: Series Three stars John Thaw as Detective Inspector Jack Regan and Dennis Waterman as Detective Sergeant George Carter. Garfield Morgan, Morris Perry and John Alkin also appear.
Storylines include the Flying Squad pursuing a thug who shot a police officer in a raid and an escaped convict with a grudge. A tagline for the series reads: “It must be the Seventies because Carter thinks a cursor is someone we nick for obscene language.”
