The Return of Swamp Thing' (1989) Gets 4K UHD Release Courtesy of Screenbound Pictures
Screenbound Pictures is releasing The Return of Swamp Thing (1989) on 4K UHD in the UK.
In The Return of Swamp Thing, Heather Locklear stars as Abigail Arcane, who travels to the Florida swamps after her mother's mysterious death to confront her evil stepfather, Dr. Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan). Obsessed with reversing the effects of aging, Arcane combines DNA from swamp animals and humans to create a monstrous army called the Un-Men. When he sets his sights on using Abby in his experiments, she is saved by the mysterious creature known as Swamp Thing.
Directed by cult filmmaker Jim Wynorski, known for Chopping Mall and Not of This Earth, this 1989 sequel to the original Swamp Thing film is based on the award-winning DC Comics series. The cast includes Dick Durock returning as Swamp Thing, with supporting roles from Sarah Douglas, Heather Locklear, and Louis Jourdan. Executive producers Benjamin Melniker and Michael E. Uslan, also behind Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, bring big-screen energy to this creature-feature favorite.
The UK limited edition 4K UHD is limited to just 1,000 copies and will release on September 29, 2025. It is currently available for pre-order at screenbounddirect.co.uk.
