The Basement (1989) Blu-ray Announced by Terror Vision for Q1 2026
Terror Vision will release The Basement (1989) on Blu-ray in Q1 2026, marking the film’s first appearance in HD. Shot on Super 8mm in 1989 and completed two decades later with a new soundtrack and dub, the film gained a cult following through Camp Motion Pictures’ 2011 DVD. Now it returns from the original 8mm elements with a new 4K restoration and the rediscovered original production audio.
This release follows other recent Terror Vision titles including Hide and Go Shriek and Patchwork (2015).
Edition details
The two-disc Region Free set includes the feature on Blu-ray and a CD of the score. Both the original 1989 audio and the 2011 English dub are included. Two new commentary tracks feature producer Michael Raso with composer Chris LaMartina and writer-director Timothy O’Rawe. Interviews with Raso, O’Rawe, and casting director Pamela Kramer round out the set.
A Limited-Edition slipcover designed by Worserbeings is limited to 1,500 units.
Bonus features
Extras include outtakes, deleted scenes, an audition reel, a TV news spot, a still gallery, and the trailer.
