Student Confidential Will Make Its Blu-ray Debut in a New 2-Disc Release from Severin Films

Severin Films has announced the Student Confidential Blu-ray, a 2-disc set marking the film’s worldwide Blu-ray debut. The release includes both the theatrical and director’s cuts, each newly scanned in 4K from the original camera negatives, and features more than four hours of special features. It will be available during Severin’s Black Friday sale beginning November 28.
Description
In 1985, movie-obsessed entrepreneur Richard Horian wrote, produced, directed, edited, scored and starred in the film, which was originally titled The Counselor. The film was later released by Troma Entertainment in 1987 to harsh reviews and outright dismissal.
The cast includes Eric Douglas, Marlon Jackson and Susan Scott as the troubled students, along with Oscar nominee Ronee Blakley.
Restoration and presentation
Student Confidential arrives with both the 98-minute theatrical version and the 95-minute director’s cut, sourced from new 4K scans of the original camera negatives. The 2-disc set features a 1.85:1 presentation with English Mono audio, English SDH subtitles and is region free. A limited edition slipcover is also included.
