Peking Opera Blues 4K Blu-ray from Imprint Films

Imprint Films is releasing Peking Opera Blues (1986) on 4K UHD in February under its Imprint Asia line. The two disc set comes in a Limited Edition Hardbox containing a 4K UHD and Blu-ray SteelBook.

Film Overview

Peking Opera Blues is directed by Tsui Hark and features Brigitte Lin, Cherie Chung, and Sally Yeh. The story follows three young women who cross paths in the aftermath of China’s first democratic revolution. The film blends action, comedy, and social themes in a colorful style reflective of the Peking Opera traditions.

Video and Audio Specs

The 4K UHD disc is region free and presents the film in 2160p with Dolby Vision and HDR10. The restoration is sourced from the original camera negative. The disc includes Cantonese and English DTS-HD Master Audio mono tracks with optional newly-translated English subtitles.

The Blu-ray disc is Region B and presents the film in 1080p. It contains the same audio options as the 4K disc.

The release is limited to 1,500 copies. A 60-page hardcover booklet featuring new essays by Darren Wheeling and Wayne Wong is included with the release.

Peking Opera Blues releases February 25, 2026. It is currently available to pre-order from Imprint Films.

Peking Opera Blues joins the City on Fire 4K UHD as one of the first Golden Princess titles to join the Imprint Asia collection.
