Knights of the Teutonic Order (1960) will make its UK Blu-ray premiere in January courtesy of Second Run. The release presents Aleksander Ford’s historical epic with a new 2K restoration.

Knights of the Teutonic Order (1960) is an adaptation of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s novel. The story is set in the early 1400s and follows events leading to the Battle of Grunwald. The film is one of the most widely viewed Polish productions and was selected by Martin Scorsese as one of the best films in Polish cinema.

The Blu-ray is region free and presents the film from a 2K restoration created by WFDiF in Poland. The disc includes a new English subtitle translation, archival footage, and written supplements. Additional technical details were not provided.
