Hitch-Hike (1977) arrives on 4K UHD and Blu-ray in the UK from Indicator on October 22. Starring Franco Nero, Corinne Cléry, and David Hess, the film follows a couple who pick up a hitchhiker only to discover he is a violent psychopath. Their road trip turns deadly as they are forced toward Mexico, leaving a trail of corpses behind.
Directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile and scored by Ennio Morricone, Hitch-Hike is a tense thriller filled with dark humor and disturbing turns.
This edition features a new 4K HDR restoration in Dolby Vision with both English and Italian versions of the film. Bonus content includes expert commentaries, a newly updated documentary by Federico Caddeo, archival and new interviews, trailers, an image gallery, and improved subtitle options.
The set is limited to 5,000 individually numbered UK units, with 4,000 on 4K UHD and 1,000 on Blu-ray. A collector’s 80-page book is also included, featuring new essays and archival interviews with the cast, crew, and composer Ennio Morricone. This release marks the world premiere of Hitch-Hike on 4K and it is currently available for pre-order.
