Alliance Entertainment is releasing Genghis Khan (1965) on Blu-ray in March. The film stars Omar Sharif, Stephen Boyd, James Mason, and Eli Wallach.
Film Overview
After witnessing the death of his father at the hands of Jamuga, Temujin escapes and vows to unite the Mongol tribes. The narrative follows his journey through China and his eventual conquest across Asia, leading to a final confrontation with the Merkit tribe.
The cast features Omar Sharif as Temujin, Stephen Boyd as Jamuga, and James Mason as Kam Ling. Other cast members include Eli Wallach, Françoise Dorléac, and Telly Savalas.
Irving Allen produced the film. The production took place over 125 days. The film was part of a series of epics produced by Allen, which also included The Long Ships and Cromwell.
