Furious Swords and The Diabolical Dr Z Blu-rays Out Now From Eureka Entertainment
Eureka Entertainment has released two new Blu-rays this week. Furious Swords and Fantastic Warriors collects ten martial arts films from director Chang Cheh, and The Diabolical Dr Z brings Jess Franco’s 1966 horror film to Blu-ray in the UK for the first time. Both editions are limited to 2,000 copies and available now.

Furious Swords and Fantastic Warriors
Furious Swords and Fantastic Warriors is a five-disc collection of ten films directed by Chang Cheh between 1967 and 1983. The set includes Men from the Monastery, Shaolin Martial Arts, King Eagle, Iron Bodyguard, Fantastic Magic Baby, The Weird Man, Trail of the Broken Blade, Wandering Swordsman, Trilogy of Swordsmanship, and New Shaolin Boxers.
This edition is strictly limited to a single pressing of 2,000 copies which will not be reissued once sold out. It is presented in a double-walled slipcase with new artwork by Darren Wheeling and includes two amaray cases and a collector’s booklet with writing by film critic James Oliver. All ten films are presented in 1080p HD with newly revised English subtitles.

All films were produced during Chang Cheh’s time at Shaw Brothers. This set presents these films on Blu-ray in the UK for the first time.
The Diabolical Dr Z
The Diabolical Dr Z (1966) is a Spanish-French co-production written by Jean-Claude Carrière and directed by Jess Franco. Following her father’s death, Irma Zimmer (Mabel Karr) continues his mind control experiments, using nightclub performer Miss Meurte (Estella Blain) to kill those who ruined his reputation.
This Region B Blu-ray features a 2K restoration by Gaumont Film Company. It includes English and French audio tracks, newly revised English subtitles, and new artwork by Poochamin. The release comes with a collector’s booklet featuring new writing by Antonio Lázaro-Reboll.
