Diablo Rojo PTY (2019) Blu-ray Announced by Petroglyph Media
Petroglyph Media is releasing Diablo Rojo PTY (2019) on Blu-ray in late 2026. The film is recognized as Panama’s first horror feature and is based on the legend of La Tulivieja.
Overview
Diablo Rojo PTY follows bus driver Miguel, played by Carlos Carrasco, as he and his companions travel into the Chiriqui jungle. The group encounters witches, cannibals, and winged demons during a night that quickly becomes dangerous.
Release Details
Petroglyph Media plans a limited edition slipcover featuring new artwork created for the Blu-ray release. The label expects the edition to be ready before the end of Winter 2026, although an exact release date has not been provided.
The film is often cited as a milestone for Panamanian cinema due to its status as the country’s first horror production. The label noted that even though the film is available on streaming platforms, it wanted to ensure a physical edition exists. Petroglyph Media also indicated that a selection of special features is being developed for this release, but did not hint at what any of those might be.
It is not yet clear whether this will follow their debut Blu-ray release of Jairo Pinilla’s Funeral Siniestro and Triángulo De Oro, or if another title will be announced before it. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.
