Announcement of Circle of Iron 4K UHD from Blue Underground

Blue Underground has announced that Circle of Iron (1978), also known as The Silent Flute, will be coming to 4K UHD in 2026. This marks the label’s return to the title after previously releasing it on Blu-ray in 2009. The new edition features a brand new 4K restoration sourced from the original camera negative, along with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

The martial arts fantasy film is based on a story conceived by Bruce Lee, James Coburn, and Stirling Silliphant, and stars David Carradine in four roles — including “The Silent Flute,” the blind martial artist who guides the protagonist. Roddy McDowall, Eli Wallach, and Christopher Lee also appear in supporting roles. No bonus features, packaging details, or exact release date have been provided yet. We will update this article when we know more.

In the meantime, fans of classic action and martial arts may also want to check out recent announcements of the 4K UHD of The Big Heat and Shout! Studios’ Prison on Fire I and II set.
