Chainsaws Were Singing Blu-ray arrives this December
Dark Sky Films has announced the Blu-ray release of Chainsaws Were Singing, an Estonian action-horror-musical-comedy from filmmaker Sander Maran. Shot guerilla-style in 2013 and completed after ten years in postproduction, the film finally makes its way to home video on December 2, 2025.
Described as Monty Python meets The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Chainsaws Were Singing is a wild, blood-soaked musical about lovers torn apart by a chainsaw-wielding killer.
The film stars Karl-Joosep Ilves, Laura Niils, Janno Puusepp, Martin Ruus, and Rita Rätsepp. It was produced by Kaur Maran, Sander Maran, Karl-Joosep Ilves, Jan Andresson, and Peeter Maran. Maran also handled writing, directing, composing, cinematography, editing, sound design, visual effects, and color.
