Lionsgate Bringing 1408 to 4K Ultra HD Steelbook in January

Lionsgate is releasing 1408 in a new 4K Ultra HD Steelbook edition early next year, giving Stephen King fans a fresh way to revisit one of his most atmospheric adaptations. Based on King’s short story, the film follows author Mike Enslin, a writer who debunks claims of the supernatural—until he checks into the infamous Room 1408. This Steelbook is an Amazon exclusive and comes housed in a slipcover for the original pressing.
Release Overview
This 4K Steelbook edition includes both the theatrical cut and the director’s cut across a three-disc set. Lionsgate is also debuting a new featurette for this release titled “Don't Enter 1408.” A digital copy is included.

The 4K Steelbook edition of 1408 features both Dolby Vision and HDR10, and presents the film in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Audio options include a English Dolby Atmos mix and a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track. Subtitles are provided in English SDH and Spanish.

Collectors have plenty to look forward to beyond 1408 as well. Kino Lorber recently announced a 3-disc 4K Special Edition of Mimic (1997), Lionsgate Limited is bringing Dogma to 4K in a new SteelBook this December, and Transmission, a Radiance Films sublabel, will debut The Stunt Man on 4K UHD this February.
